Which of India’s top-paid doctors earned the highest salaries in 2018?

A total of 8,719 doctors were employed by India’s medical institutions, making them the biggest group in the country, according to a report by the Indian Medical Council (IMC).
The top earners of the sector were the medical colleges and hospitals, which accounted for nearly 90% of the total number of doctors employed, according the report.
The average salary for the top 10 medical colleges, in terms of total number and salaries, was $1,567,938, the report said.
The top 10 hospitals, in the sector, were the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Mumbai (IIMS), Rs 1,622,000; Tata Memorial Hospital, Rs 1 and Rs 1.50 lakh; Indian Institute, Delhi, Rs 4,077,935; Indian Institutes of Medical Science (IIms), Rs 431,532; and National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIEMS), Rs 522,766.
The top 10 institutes, in India, were: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Rs 11,738,957; Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Rs 6,085,817; National Institute for Medical Research and Quality (NIMRQ), Rs 7,084,947; Indian National Institute, $1.25 crore; National Institutes of All India Medical Research, Rs 2,979,964; National Medical College of India, Rs 713,865; Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Rs 2.5 crore; Jawahara Medical College, Rs 5.8 crore; Indian Medical College for Tropical Medicine and Tropical Medicine Research, and National Medical University of India (NMUC), Rs 9,859,811.
The report also said that a total of 7,984 doctors were also appointed to the board of directors of medical institutions.
The remaining 6,822 doctors were appointed to positions at the Medical Council of India.
